"A Midsummer Night's Dream" will be presented over three open-air evening shows from 28 May to 30 May 2026 at Matthew Flinders Anglican College.
This fast-paced and hilarious version of Shakespeare’s rom com will be staged on the College's award-winning outdoor precinct, The Green.

The Green will be transformed into New York’s Central Park by the College's talented Technical Department. Guests are welcome to bring picnics, chairs or a rug to settle in and enjoy the show under the stars.
Note: A wet weather venue on campus is confirmed, so the show will go on as scheduled.
The Flinders Director of Dramatic Arts Mr Andy Fraser is thrilled to see the cast and crew double in numbers since last year’s Shakespeare On The Green. This year’s production involves more than 38 performers on stage and seven technical crew behind the scenes.
“This is our third Shakespeare in a row at Flinders, and our students are discovering that Shakespeare isn’t scary – it’s fun, physical and an exhilarating challenge, especially when staged outdoors,” Mr Fraser said.
“Set against the backdrop of New York, this year’s performance uses Billy Joel’s iconic hits to capture the whimsical mayhem of Shakespeare’s classic plot. Our students are developing valuable skills and confidence that traditional indoor theatre often doesn't require, such as vocal power, physical projection and the resilience needed for outdoor performance.”
In Term 1, Flinders students benefited from an intensive residency with Visiting Artist Jovana Miletic. A ballerina-turned-actress, Miletic brings expertise honed at esteemed institutions such as The McDonald College, NIDA and WAAPA, with a professional portfolio spanning international feature films, television and acclaimed short films.
Mr Fraser and Ms Miletic first worked together more than 10 years ago at Black Swan Theatre Company in Perth on Shakespeare's As You Like It. Mr Fraser was the Resident Artist and Miss Miletic was an Emerging Artist.
“During the residency, our students truly valued Jovana’s guidance, which allowed us to cover significant ground in the early stage of rehearsals,” Mr Fraser noted. “With three distinct character groups requiring vastly different techniques, her input was invaluable.
“Jovana was not only impressed by our students’ politeness but also by their enthusiastic engagement and investment. It’s rewarding to see our students embrace the rich opportunities we provide in the dramatic arts at Flinders.”
